2. From the Franklin Historical Society: Thurs., June 7, 7:00pm. Franklin 7th Grade Best History Project Displays. Come view the displays and discuss with the students about their individual efforts, encouraging their appreciation of history and their original work and research. The regular FHS business meeting will commence in the same space directly after the presentations and light refreshments.

Tessellating Tales: The Preservation and Repair of Stained and Leaded Glass presented by Tom Gloudemans, hired through a NH Moose Plate grant to restore the stained glass windows in the Laconia Public Library. 7. From the New Durham Historical Society: Sat., July 28. 8:30am. Annual Meetinghouse 5K Road Race Fundraiser. Register at 7:00am at the Farmington Fish & Game Club next to Sportos’. Race begins at 8:30am, immediately followed by a Kids’ Fun Run. Whether as a participant, volunteer or spectator, all are welcome to this annual fundraiser that benefits the historic 1772 New Durham Meetinghouse. 14. From the Friends of the Poore Family Homestead. NH Governor and Executive Council approved a $135,000 National Scenic Byway Grant proposal for the first phase of construction of a Visitors/Interpretive Center that includes safe highway access and parking at the Poore Farm. The Poore Foundation must raise a 20% local match of $33,750, $29,000 of which has already been raised from contributions from the Tillotson North Country Foundation, the NH Charitable Foundation, Poore Farm’s Board of Directors and other community members. 15. From the Tuftonboro Historical Society: THS has received the donation of a 200 year old 34’ x 45’ two-story English style post and beam barn. Professionally moved by Denis Morin of West Newfields, Maine, it can be seen at the THS property on Route 109 where it sits temporarily while a new foundation is built.
