History Award for Essay Contest Winner. Students from Exeter High School, Phillips Exeter Academy and the Cooperative Middle School are invited to compete for the Nancy Carnegie Merrill History Award, an essay contest in honor of the Exeter Historical Society’s former curator. Topics should focus on an aspect of the communal past related to the theme “Continuity and Change: A View of Historic Exeter.” A $100 prize will also be awarded to each winner. 5. From the NH Quilt Documentation Project:
The NH Quilt Documentation Project is coming to Bedford in February and Windham in March. If you have a pre-1976 quilt (especially one made in New Hampshire), schedule an appointment to have it registered and documented. Experts will take information, photograph it, and tell you what they can about it. The end result of this project will be a database of 3,000+ quilts and a book about quilt history in New Hampshire.
